This position is on 2nd shift.'

 

• providing project leadership for new product launches as well as cost savings initiatives within the packaging space
• focus on and assist with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) work including PFEP (Plan for Every Part), Kanban, standardized work, packaging, part sequencing, fork-free solutions, and problem-solving.
• This role communicates directly with the supply base on any supply issues and works with internal partners on quality and inventory issues. This role also communicates directly with transportation teams for in-transit events tracking. This role participates and/or leads continuous improvement projects related to improving material/packaging management.
• Continuous improvement projects and documentation related to improving material management and material flow.
• Support and lead a Third Party Logistics (3PL) outsourced parts warehouse operation, contract, costs, damaging process, equipment
• Work with Cross-functional team, including Logistics, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality to support inbound material packaging and process requirement for new product launches.
• Packaging management of raw material and/or component parts to the plant and ensures material is available for production when needed including proactive and reactive problem solving with cross-functional partners within Whirlpool, 3PL’s, Carriers, and Suppliers.
• Manage multiple project initiatives to support Material Control and Logistics (MCL). Generate reports and presentations based on metrics
• Travel Requirements: Travel may be required to supplier locations

Experience / Skills 
• Effective at developing and using standardized work
• Excellent product development knowledge, experience in packaging design and approval a plus
• Understands and employs basic change management methodology
• Understanding and working knowledge continuous improvement tools
• Knowledge of transportation requirements, customs clearance, transportation modes, packaging requirements and expedite processes both domestically and internationally
• Self-motivation and advanced skills to identify, analyze and work to find solutions to complex problems

Health, Safety, & Physical Demands
• Safety glasses are required to be worn at all times when on the plant floor.
• This position requires the ability to work at a computer, stand, sit in office
