Mission: (Brief statement of job’s primary purpose. Maximum of 2-4 sentences):

The aim of this position is to operate the process in an efficient manager while maintaining a high degree of quality on the production floor to exceed customer expectations.

 

 

Essential Functions of Role:

  • Supervisory Capacity:      No Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Participate in APQP Team as Process Engineering representative.
  • Review process for material savings, scrap reduction, material –handling reduction, and operator efficiency improvements, making recommendations, and implementing upon approval.
  • Determine best method to salvage non-conforming material.
  • Develop new production methods using engineering fundamentals.
  • Develop and implement new production equipment to improve quality of product, improve efficiency and reduce scrap. 
  • Develop plant layout to improve process flow and minimize material handling.
  • Formulate, update, and enter Bill of Materials (BOM) in software system.
  • Conduct capacity studies.
  • Develop internal quotations for new products as needed.
  • Program water jets.
  • Develop the DFMEA, DFM/A and other engineering disciplines if specified by the customer.
  • Provide support for machinery and equipment failure troubleshoot and repair.
  • Develop and implement Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and robot program modifications for product and process changes.
  • Analyze plant processes, design, and implement improvements.
  • Troubleshoot issues with hardware and processes.
  • Plan preventative maintenance.
  • Work with others to detect problems and implement solutions.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards and ensure they are upheld.
  • Stay current with technological advancements.
  • Receive, catalogue, and store production parts and quotes for engineering drawings.
  • Store Customer Supplied labels used for samples, or non-production run products.
  • Review quarterly records for expiration of retention and review with Manufacturing Engineering Manager before disposal.
  • Assist in training new employees on operation of equipment.
  • Able to be on called on for emergency/planned events.

What we are looking for:

 

Educational Requirement:    Bachelor's Level Degree

Area of Study:     Engineering

(Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.)

 

Years of Experience Required:

  • 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience with industrial processes or related.
  • Less Than 1 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry, preferred.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, FANUC, and ABB and PLC robotics programming.
  • Experience in layout and process flow.
  • Experience with Minitab, preferred.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Language Required:  English (Fluency with Reading, Writing, Speaking)
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and SAP skills, including structuring for BOM and routings.
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD, MATLAB, Simulink, Studio 5000, and PLC.
  • Excellent knowledge of PFMEA and DFEMA.
  • Good knowledge in measurement statistical analysis and robotics troubleshooting.
  • Good knowledge of electrical theory, control components, and automation.
  • Good knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and ISO 14001: 2015.
  • Basic knowledge of state estimators.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and KPIs.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as a member of a team and individually.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
