INGP02-Shift Leader

• SUPERVISE AND ORGANIZE PERSONNEL: It is the responsibility of the supervisor to motivate, coach, evaluate, and counsel
employees. The Supervisor must enforce policies and procedures and offer discipline when necessary. Must be able to
organize people and place them in needed positions efficiently and effectively, to ensure lines start up on time. Shift
supervisor also is responsible for filling out a Daily Manning Sheet, which confirms the number of employees working on
each shift and the particular job being performed to include training and cross training. Guarantee correct transmission of
the info between shifts and facilitates start of next shift.
• PRODUCTION: Hold production lines accountable to ensure compliance with published schedules, tact times/hourly rates,
and quality standards. Reduce controllable downtime. Verify completion and accuracy of all production reporting,
including SAP/R3 scanning transactions and paperwork.
• QUALITY: Responsible to ensure quality procedures and work instructions are being followed by production operators.
Participate in corrective action and process improvement meetings (such Red Table). Work with line leaders, operators,
and staff to reduce scrap and quality issues.
• TRAINING: Responsible to provide training to ensure all production employees understand proper operations, work
instructions, quality procedures, and safety instructions. The supervisor is also responsible for completing and monitoring
all training control forms as training occurs such as the Training Charts, Multi-Skilling Charts, and the Employee Appraisals.
He/she holds regular safety and production meetings with all members of his/her crew.
• COMMUNICATION: Supervisors are responsible to communicate needs to staff members and employees. Supervisors are
expected to offer suggestions for improvements to process and quality. Responsible to fill out all required production
reports correctly and completely.
• HOUSEKEEPING: Supervisors are responsible to enforce housekeeping rules and to set good examples to employees per
Group 5S standards. In addition, are responsible to ensure all material is place in proper areas with correct tags, labels, and
paperwork.
• SAFETY: Supervisors are responsible to enforce all safety rules and regulations, to provide safety equipment to operators,
to report any unsafe conditions to Production Manager, complete Safety Incident Investigation Reports to include
corrective action and submit to HR no later than the end of the shift in which the incident occurred. Ensure compliance
with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.
• SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: comply with the requirements of the company Quality Manual, Environmental Manual,
Procedures, and Process Cards.
