Commodity Analyst

POSITION TITLE: Commodity Analyst

 

HOURS / WEEK: 40

 

JOB SITE LOCATION: 1700 Atlantic Blvd, Auburn Hills, MI 48236            

 

DUTIES: Drive strategies for the assigned commodities to achieve budget, cost reduction, quality, and timing goals. Analyze the supplier bases performance for assigned commodities to make recommendations to add and remove from the approved supplier base. Manage and monitor supply base to develop cost-saving methods and opportunities to promote productivity. Create and renew purchase orders, contracts and agreements. Prepare information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data. Monitor industry trends and business climates. Negotiate purchasing contracts and agreements including price, timing, and deliverables. Resolve problems and issues as it relates to assigned supply base. Develop and maintain good relationships with supply base and vendors. Maintain records and documentation as it relates to the purchasing process. Maintain approved supplier list for the assigned commodities. Participate in and support the implementation of new and updated processes and procedures. Visit suppliers to support the evaluation of new suppliers to be added to the supply base. Identify, create, and implement cost saving opportunities throughout the system to help plants optimize their purchasing prices. Enhance the coordination of different areas teams (Purchasing, Engineering, Plants, STA, Quality, etc.) to solve issues related to suppliers in the assigned area of responsibility.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration and International Business Administration or related field and 3 years of experience in Commodity Analyst, Material Planner and Logistics, or related supply chain or purchasing occupation. Experience must include: experience with SAP.
